1st Place Award-Winning Kitchen – NKBA Susquehanna Valley Chapter Design Competition

Located in Harrisburg's historic district, this project called for thoughtful updates that would improve functionality and introduce a fresh, timeless aesthetic while remaining respectful of the character of the home.

The centerpiece of the renovation was the kitchen, where careful space planning transformed a compact layout into a highly functional and inviting gathering space. Crisp white cabinetry, marble countertops, a farmhouse sink and thoughtfully integrated appliances create a light, classic look that feels appropriate to the home's architecture. Every inch was carefully considered to maximize storage and function within the existing footprint.

The completed kitchen earned 1st Place in the NKBA Susquehanna Valley Chapter Design Competition, recognizing both the design and creative use of the space.

The project extended beyond the kitchen into a compact bathroom, where maximizing function was equally important. A walk-in shower, custom vanity and carefully planned storage make efficient use of the limited footprint. White subway tile provides a timeless backdrop, while marble herringbone mosaic adds texture and character to the shower floor and recessed niches.

That same marble mosaic was carried into the home's fireplace hearth, creating a subtle visual connection between spaces and helping the updates feel cohesive throughout the home.
